Today won’t be there tomorrow – Ocala Family Photographer
Did you read that? “We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.” These are the words of Katie Thurmes, co-founder of the very cool, thoughtful, conscientious, forward-thinking, modern & creative photo-centered product company, Artifact Uprising. Sure we have our memories, but they often grow cloudy and muddled as we add more memories each day. A solution? If you really want to know: Photographs. Don’t you love going through photographs? I love it..whether they’re from of my infant sons (currently ages 7 & 9) or of me as a child. I love the tactile feel, the scent (yes, I love the smell of aging photo paper), the feeling that washes over me recalling that moment. I love how time stops…then and now. I love the permanent smile that’s stretched across my face as I reminisce. Hmmm…
See sweet Jordan in the photo above? She’s growing and changing every. single. day. Do we notice it everyday? Speaking for myself, my answer is no. The days ran together when my kiddos were babies. At 7am, I would shudder to think that I has at least 12 more hours until the babies were in bed. “Mom of the Year Award” for admitting that? I remember being tired. So tired. What day of the week is it? Before I knew it, they were bigger and older. Sleep became more thorough and consistent and I wasn’t so tired all of the time, but guess what? They were suddenly 3 & 5 years-old!!! Where did the time go? I want my babies back! As of this moment, researchers have not identified a way to bring our babies back, but we have photos! Thank goodness for photos! Thank goodness that I took the time to take the photos. FYI, photographers are not always the best at taking photos of their own family. Shocking, I know!
So think about that. Think about what photos mean to you. And think about sweet Jordan in the photos below because the next time you see her, she’ll be walking & talking and doing a whole lot of growing up. So bittersweet…
** By the way, I am so in love with photographing babies!!!! This age is the best! So much personality!
