Getting back on the blogging train!
Yup, I let a WHOLE year pass without blogging! I’ve shared quite a bit on Facebook, but feel the need to make this place active once again. So, here goes…
Presenting the Zeiss Family! I love these folks. Kimberly & Darryl are genuine, honest and good people. I met Kimberly about 8 years ago and she had one little boy, Timothy. She asked me if I would take some photos of her son. (She knew I had an education in photography). What? Sure, I’ve taken photos, but nobody ever hired me to do so. Should I do this? She wants to “hire” me? Oh, what the heck! What have I got to lose? You see, while I always LOVED photography, I shifted away from it and attempted to concentrate on graphic design. But there was always this part of me that wanted to give photography my full attention. By accepting Kimberly’s offer, my confidence and willing to make a go of it came to life. Thanks for believing in “Picture Jen!”
That was my first photo shoot. Eh-hem…Let’s just say that I’ve grown SO MUCH since then! Thank goodness! I remember thinking, “Let’s take the chair with us. All of the really good photographers have a chair like this.” Hee-hee! I am so grateful that Kimberly gave me the encouragement I needed to get this place up and running. Thank you.
A couple of weeks ago, I met up with the Zeiss Family before they headed out of town for an extended visit north. I brought my camera along with the intention of capturing their family at this moment in time because as we all know, kiddos don’t stay small forever! Kimberly also requested that I recreate a photo that I took a couple of years ago….with only 2 children.
They’re now a family of six and as you can see, I choose to compose it with the landscape orientation. Hee-hee! What a difference 2 years makes!
I captured the following as all of our boys played together enjoying each other’s company. I am so in love with how real & spontaneous & imperfect these photos are. They capture their personalities perfectly…dirt and all! Enjoy.
Kimberly & Darryl, we’ll see you when we see you! Safe travels and enjoy your adventure! I can’t wait to take your photos again! ~ “Picture Jen”
