365 Day Project | Day 1 | Ocala Photographer
Do you know about 365 Day projects? It’s an old concept, but you commit to doing something for 365 consecutive days. You can often find these projects documented online via blogs. They range from performing “acts of kindness” to “cooking in a crockpot.” (That crockpot idea would be hard, right?)
Anywho, I am going to take on a 365 Day Project involving photography. I will take at least one photo everyday and (hopefully) post it here to my blog. I think this will be a great exercise for me. These photos can include client work, but will be peppered with personal work. I think that it will be fun to see what I can come up with over the next 365 days! Oh, and I’m starting this venture…now. Why start now and not wait until the New Year? Why not? I’m going with “there is no better time than the present.”
Day 1 | 365 day Project | 12.28.12
This first photo was captured yesterday at about 5:00PM. I was getting the boys ready to head out for a couple of after Christmas sales. Doesn’t everyone stock up on wrapping paper after the fact? And my favorite comes from K-Mart. Don’t judge. It doesn’t rip at the corners of sharp packages and the patterns are usually fun and punchy. What were we talking about again? Oh, the photo. The setting sun was streaming in from the kitchen and I liked the horizontal light coupled with the vertical spindles of the chair. The reddish cast is from the adjacent Christmas tree ball decoration on the buffet out of the frame. The portrait is of my husband when he was a child in the 1970’s. Its by neighbor and artist, Margaret Watts. She makes beautiful art and I love that it has a place of honor in our home. I performed a b&w conversion to make it more calm. I don’t know which I prefer?
Have you ever taken on a 365 day project? Tell me how it went.
