365 Day Project | Day 3 | Ocala Photographer
Happy Sunday, all!
So, Nicholas, my 6 year-old was bent on playing with bubbles. And we’re not talking just blowing bubbles with a little wand. He wanted giant bubbles. A quick google search led me to this site: Tatertots & Jello with a thorough tutorial. Well, we didn’t have the supplies to create these giant bubble wands and we were super low on bubble solution. I didn’t feel like leaving the house for supplies. So I did what any crafty mama would do. Improvised. I won’t go into detail on the construction as I don’t have coordinating photos, but I am pretty proud of myself for being so resourceful! I will tell you that it involved support poles from an unloved badminton net. Smell that, crafty mamas! Oh, and who knew that I had glycerin in the medicine cabinet? Makes for some super bubbles, fo’ sho! Okay, onto the photo:
What I love most about this image is that it was totally by chance. You can see that the bubble just started to break and we’re seeing Nicholas at the other end of the wand. I had the camera set at f/1.4 1/1250 ISO 100 with the intention of shooting something else. Quickly glancing up, I see Nicholas creating this HUGE bubble! I wish that it were more exposed. I punched it up as much as I could in post processing, but the noise was getting to be a bit much. It is what it is. I like it anyway.
And it was a fun afternoon playing bubbles! Do you ever have fun impromptu afternoons? How about your giant bubble making skills?
