365 Day Project | Day 13 | Ocala Photographer
You might remember yesterday’s mention of a sandbox? Yes, we have a sandbox. We have THE sandbox of all sandboxes measuring at roughly 64 square feet. And I believe that we have 27 vehicles for each of those square feet. That puts the wheeled population at 1,728. And I don’t think that I am exaggerating. Am I, dear? There’s CAT equipment, matchbox cars, Tonka trucks, an assortment of John Deere tractors, etc… And, of course, there’s the support equipment; cones, traffic signs, pipes, etc… It’s a great sandy place that any boy would love. I think that my littlest guy spends 75% of his outdoor time in that box. The other 25% involves swinging on the swing, zooming around on an assortment of riding toys and playing sawmill. Yup, sawmill. No worries. There aren’t any actual saws in this imaginative play. Just yesterday he told me that next year, he wanted Santa to bring him a Feller Buncher, “one of those things that has a grapple and picks up logs” (grapple skidder) and a logging truck. Swamp Loggers anyone?
Anywho, this image in a quick glimpse of my boy’s time in his sandbox. Obviously, bare feet are a must!
I utilized my freelensing technique to capture this. It highlights the texture of the sand while leaving a little more than a hint of his play toys. This photo would be a great complimentary detail shot in a similarly themed collage/ storyboard. These kinds of extras are what I like to capture at a shoot to round it out.
Will you be asking Santa for a Feller Buncher next year?
