365 Day Post | Day 30 | Ocala Photographer
Coreopsis floridana or tickseed is the state of Florida’s official wildflower…since 1991. Trivia. I think that I am about a week too late to capture the flowers in their full blooming beauty, but there’s something about the spent blooms in the foreground. I like the contrast visually. Their dried stiff angular stalks without a crown of golden petals makes them kind of naked, but they’re with their own keeping each other company. Am I reading into this too much? Probably. That’s okay. It’s my photo.
I used my longer lens to capture this one. And some might say that it is over processed. I warmed up the color just a bit, put on a pink overlay with the slightest opacity, and bumped up the contrast so as to not lose the dark stalks down front. All of that was topped off with a vignette that created intimacy by highlighting the goodness in focus.
I’m having fun with all of this nature.
