Sudden ImPACt – Performing Arts Conservatory – Dance Photographer
As some of you may know, I spent a big portion of my life dancing. Some of that time included dancing professionally in New York City. I was so fortunate to have performed in 3 Broadway shows, 3 National Tours that afforded me the opportunity to travel throughout the United States & Canada, and I even kicked on the line as a World Famous Radio City Music Hall Rockette. It was a very exciting part of my life…and super hard when I think back to all of the auditions that resulted in…nothing. It built character, right? I love being a dance photographer.
As I transitioned into photography, I’ve had this deep desire to photograph dancers. I mean, why wouldn’t I? It was a pretty big part of my life. And dancers are amazing! The way that they shape their bodies along with my ability capture them in a split-second is pure magic. My dream would be to have a HUGE studio with a cyclorama and every dancer would want to be photographed by me. Hey, it’s a dream, right? I love being a dance photographer.
The Performing Arts Conservatory in Ocala showcases their Sudden ImPACt competition team each year. It’s such a treat to photograph them and see their dancers grow from one year to the next. They performed at the lovely Reilly Arts Center near downtown. It’s such an amazing space! We’re really fortunate to have this historic venue in Ocala. The performances spanned solos, duets, and a few group dances. It’s a great team of kiddos and I with them the very best this season! Enjoy…
