ODFC – MESD – Dance Photographer
It was about a month ago that I shared how much I enjoy photographing dancers and the reason behind it. you can catch it in this post. How fortunate am I that I get to photograph ANOTHER group of talented dancers? Did I ever mention that I LOVE my job? I love being a dance photographer for these talented gals here in Ocala! Meet ODFC! The Ocala Dance Force Company. their based out of Mary Ellen School of Dance here in Ocala, Florida. This particular group is near and dear to me as I also teach ballet to the older girls. I’m in my fourth year of teaching at MESD and I’m enjoying it more than I thought that I would. You see, I never considered myself a dance teacher…at all. Not a single tiny bit. I actually never taught before this experience. I mean, I had the responsibility of teaching adults and a few children their dance roles in a couple of the shows I’ve performed in. I was called a Dance Captain. My duty was to also keep the production in tip top shape so that original integrity of the show was not lost through time and the revolving door of actors that shows sometimes turn into. It’s important for shows to be fresh because, chances are, the audience that is watching it that night is seeing it for the first time. Anyway, enough about my journey…
So, yeah, I heart these girls and all that they strive to be. They’re beautiful inside and out. We have a great time in class and they’re such hard workers.
Enjoy these photos. They, too, held this showcase perforce at the beautiful Reilly Arts Center here in Ocala, Florida. I love sitting in the balcony and capture their shine!
