Ladkani Family – Extended Family Shoot
The holidays came and went so fast, didn’t they? Did you all get out and about visiting family? Did they come to you? That’s what the holidays are all about, aren’t they?
Have you ever thought to capture everyone together in the form of a photo? An extended family photo shoot? You know, hire a professional photographer to take your WHOLE family’s photo? You’re thinking it’s a lot of work, right? Imagining that coordinating all of the outfits would be a nightmare? Interrupting baby’s nap time? Choosing a location? What about Great-Grandma?
Well, the Ladkani Family stepped up and accomplished the impossible! But see, it wasn’t impossible! Siblings were visiting from out of town anyway. I helped them choose a location close to home and with a variety of settings within….the go-to spot for a lot of family photos…Shalom Park in Ocala. We discussed attire and I reassured them that they should not make it overly complicated. Pick a color (if you desire) and a neutral and it will all fall into place. I like to emphasize to my clients that it’s not always about making everything perfect. Who’s perfect? What family is perfect? What are we trying to say when we show the world how PERFECT we are? How about “This is my family at this point in our journey.”? Sure, I know that we want to put our best foot forward when going to the effort of having family photos made. (And everyone will in their own way.) But sometimes we get so caught up in making everything just right that we never actually make it happen. And that makes me sad. I love that the Ladkani Family has the photo above to document this time in all of their lives. We all know how fleeting time is. I talk of it often.
If you are considering scheduling an extended family photo shoot, I would be happy…no, THRILLED to be that person who carries it through.
Thank you for letting me share this will all of you!
